Leaders of Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has accused the
Federal government of alleged plans to silence Governor Ayodele Fayose
as the one opposition voice in the country.
This, they alleged during a protest in Ido Ekiti.
During
the protest also attended by members of the state cabinet, the party
leaders declared they were ready to defend the governor with the last
drop of their blood.
They also threatened to recall any lawmaker
found working with the opposition All Progressives Congress to hatch any
impeachment plot against the governor.
Speaking with
journalists, a party leader, Mr. Ogunrinade Adeola, said the rally was
organised to sensitise the people against being used to victimise the
governor.
“The people all trooped out in the last election to
cast votes for Governor Ayodele Fayose because he did well in his first
coming. Although they truncated his reign then, we won’t allow that this
time,” he said.
