Houston Police Shoots And Kill A Man Standing On The Road With A Revolver Pointed At Them Others

Houston police shot and killed a man after he pointed a gun at them, authorities said.
Two officers saw a man standing in the road on the city’s south side around 12:40am Saturday, according to the police department.
They asked him to put down the gun, but he pointed it in the air instead before aiming it at the officers, police said.
The officers fired numerous times, fatally hitting the man. A woman told ABC 13 he was her husband and identified him as Alva Braziel.
Witness Eric Puckett confirmed to the network the man was a black male. The races of the two officers remained unknown as of Saturday morning.
The two officers have each spent 10 and 13 years in the force according to ABC 13. They were wearing body cams at the time of the shooting, the department said.
It came one day after a gunman shot 12 officers and two civilians in Dallas, killing five of the city’s officers. He acted during a Black Lives Matter rally, which itself was held in protest against the shooting death of two black men at the end of police in Minnesota and Louisiana.

Singer May D Joins Paul Okoye, As Papii J Sticks With Peter

You know they have gone their separate ways, but it seems their music families also took sides.
We all know Kaffy’s husband, Pappi J is with Peter and officially signed to his record label and also a part of his band, but what was however not clear was, on whose side may D (a former signee of the twin brothers) was. But yesterday, the clear picture surfaced.
May D is on Paul’s side and they are both currently out of the country to attend the three shows P-Square was billed for, which Peter openly opted out from.
See another photo of May D with Paul below. So now we know who is on whose side.

EDO PDP: Two Governorship Candidates, One Party

ALEXANDER OKERE writes on the internal crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, with few weeks to the September 10 gubernatorial election.

In view of its criticisms against the All Progressives Congress-led government in Edo State, the Peoples Democratic Party had in the last seven and a half years demonstrated to many that it was the loudest voice in the opposition. In addition to its anti-government positions on policies affecting the average Edo citizen, the PDP had also ensured that it didn’t keep quiet even in matters involving the internal workings of the APC, as it did in the build-up to the ruling party’s June 18.

Press briefings after press briefings, the Dan Orbih-led state executive council of the major opposition party had professed its readiness to return the state to the PDP fold and provide party’s own alternative to the government of the incumbent Governor Adams Oshiomhole. Therefore, many an Edo citizen expected that the process leading to the emergence of its flag bearer for the September 10 governorship polls would be as clean as a whistle. However, the events that played out during and after its June 20 primary, perhaps, proved otherwise.

The lingering crisis between the Ahmed Makarfi and Ali-Modu Sheriff factions of the PDP at the national level seemed to have been apparently contained in Abuja until it spilled down to the state. But the state chapter, having aligned itself with the Makarfi-led leadership, had vowed to stage the primary without hitches and warned Sheriff to steer clear of Edo, as it would not tolerate any killjoy.

Three aspirants contested the party’s ticket in the primary, which was organised by the Makarfi-led national caretaker committee at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin. They include a former Secretary to the State Government, Osagie Ize-Iyamu; a former Majority Leader in the House of Assembly, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, and the candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party in the 2012 governorship polls, Solomon Edebiri.

Prior to the primary election, there were mutterings among supporters of Iduoriyekemwen and Edebiri over allegations that the state executive committee had ceded the ticket to Ize-Iyamu and after hours of voting, with 713 accredited delegates, the Ize-Iyamu was declared winner of the exercise. But this did not go down well with the two aggrieved aspirants, who staged a walkout before the chairman of the electoral committee, David Umahi, announced the results. They were later joined by their supporters, who cited irregularities in the recurrence of “Ize-Iyamu” during the counting of votes. The former SSG polled a total of 584 votes (over 80 per cent) to defeat Iduoriyekemwen and Edebiri’s 91 and 38 votes, respectively.

Apparently irked by what he described as a “comedy” which was “clinically manipulated” to favour a preferred candidate of the state leadership of the party, Iduoriyekemwen not only rejected the result but pitched his political tent with the Sheriff faction and vowed to participate in the group’s governorship primary.

He was also joined by the member representing Egor and Ikpoba-Okha constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Johnson Agbonayima, who purchased the nomination and expression of interest forms of the Sheriff faction. However, many political watchers believed Agbonayima’s action was more of a political backing than a personal interest for governorship ticket, being one of the strongest allies of Iduoriyekemwen.

While announcing his rejection of the June 20 primary election at a press conference in Benin, the former Edo representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission, had said, “Having looked at all the processes, starting from the clinical manipulation and rigging of the primary, I hereby fully dissociate myself from every process that led to that so-called primary which ended on June 20.

“Myself and members of my team across the state reject the outcome and we pledge our loyalty to the authentic leadership of the party headed by His Excellency, Ali Modu Sheriff.”

The aggrieved aspirant had explained that the affirmation of the delegates negated the rules of the party’s constitution on the direct nomination of delegates at the ward level and showed “the manipulation of the state chairman, who was the main actor of the entire process and tried to get the candidates to adopt ad hoc delegates, who were elected in the last state congress, where the chairman and other members of the state executive were elected.”

The crisis took a twist when the pro-Sheriff missile hit the Orbih-led leadership 24 hours later, cancelling the June 20 gubernatorial primary, suspending the state executive committee and replacing same with a caretaker committee chaired by a former state Chairman of the party in Ondo State, Ebenezer Alabi. Sheriff also set up an electoral committee for a fresh primary election.

But the Orbih-led committee kicked and vowed to remain indivisible in spite of the action of the Sheriff group. The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Chris Nehikhare, had told Sunday PUNCH on the telephone that Sheriff had no constitutional right to suspend the leadership of the party in Edo. He also accused the former senator of doing the bidding of the All Progressives Congress to serve as a cog in the wheel of the PDP and ruin its chances in the at the governorship polls.

“He has no right to do what he is doing. But we know he is being sponsored by the All Progressives Congress. The most interesting part of it is that even those he picked as members of his caretaker committee are all flying documents of the illegal kangaroo committee,” Nehikhare had said.
But the ruling party denied any complicity in the crisis rocking the opposition party. The State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Godwin Erhahon, told Sunday PUNCH on Thursday that the statement by the PDP depicted an opposition party that has lost control.
”I am not aware of the APC being responsible for any problem in the PDP. But if the PDP leadership is blaming the APC for what is happening to it, that means it has admitted the fact that it has lost control. If they surrender their leadership to the ruling party, then all of them should better quit politics,” Erhahon said.

However, owing to what it described as anti-party activities, the state executive committee slammed a suspension on Iduoriyekemwen.
In a communiqué issued at the end of its State Working Committee meeting on June 26 it also recommended Agbonayima for disciplinary action by the National Working Committee of party. The SWC had explained that, since the June 20 primary of the PDP, where the former majority leader lost the fight for the party’s candidacy, he had allegedly displayed actions considered as “unacceptable,” “irresponsible” and “selfish.”
It also accused Iduoriyekemwen and Agbonnayima of forming a tag team with the Ali-Modu Sheriff faction, by purchasing “kangaroo” nomination forms for the same governorship ticket, which he (Iduoriyekemwen) two weeks ago.
The communiqué read, “The conduct of Matthew Iduoriyekemwen in associating with Modu Sheriff, with the intention to destabilise the party in the state, amounts to anti-party activity. Consequently, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen is, hereby, suspended from the party for one month, pending further disciplinary action in accordance with Chapter 10 of the Peoples Democratic Party Constitution of 2012 (as amended).
“For also associating with Modu Sheriff, with the intention to destabilise the party in the state, Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayima is, hereby, recommended to be disciplined by the National Caretaker Committee, in accordance with chapter 10 of the party’s constitution.”
In a bid to prevent the Sheriff faction from further wreaking the ship of the Edo State chapter of the party, its Legal Adviser, Professor Edoba Omoregie, filed a suit at a Federal High Court sitting in Benin seeking an order to restrain Sheriff and his committee from conducting a separate primary election in the state. The party, in suit number FHC/B/CS/109/2016 and fixed for July 1, also sought to restrain the Iduoriyekemwen, Agbonayima and the Independent National Electoral Commission from participating in the exercise.
But the apparent legal threat did not stop the Sheriff electoral committee from carrying out the bidding of its principal. Although the committee, led by a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, had arrived four days to the proposed primary, it did not show up at the state secretariat of the National Youth Council on Akpakpava road, where it had scheduled a pre-primary press briefing, due to what many believed to security reasons.
The pro-Sheriff primary election, however, held last Wednesday under tight security at the volleyball court of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, with Iduoriyekemwen emerging as PDP governorship candidate.
But analysts have expressed concern that the division within the ranks of the PDP portends danger for not only the party in the September 10 poll but also for the survival of democracy.
A public affairs analyst, Mr. David Ugolor, said that the PDP may be losing its role as the major opposition voice in the state, a challenge he said should be surmounted before voters go to the polls.
Ugolor said, “It is unfortunate that the PDP has ceased to take advantage of the opportunity to play the leading opposition role. It is not what the APC should celebrate because it portends danger for this country.
“I think if they don’t want Nigeria to ignore them completely, the pocket of leadership that is remaining in the party will have to act quickly to redeem their image. Otherwise, I see the party imploding and that will be a disaster for democracy in Nigeria.”
For the President of the Conference of Non-governmental Organisations in Edo State, Jude Obasanmi, the electorate must see the goings-on in the PDP as an eye opener and an opportunity to make informed choices during the election.
Obasanmi said, “I strongly believe that the decision of somebody, who contested an election before and lost and went ahead to align with another faction to contest the same position for him to emerge as the candidate, shows to a large extent that he has a selfish agenda.
“It is also a lesson for some citizens who patronise politicians, seeing them as fathers and brothers and respecting them. But their (actions) do not show that they are credible and should be trusted.”

Death Of Idps: As Kashim Shettima Waits For Jonathan’s Call

The IDPs have been languishing from hunger and dying in droves while Nigerians out there have been made to believe all along that the victims were being taken good care of. At least, that was what the governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima had made us believe until Nigerains came to know the truth.

As recently as April 2016, the governor had told the world in a keynote address he presented at the first annual dialogue on Rebuilding Peace in Borno State organized by AOA Global, a humanitarian advocacy group, that Internally Displaced Persons consume a whopping 1,800 bags of 50 kilogrammes of rice daily. That number represents three trailer loads of rice. Daily?

Before this time, the state’s former deputy governor, late Alhaji Zanna Mustapha, had some time in December 2014, told the world that the Borno State government was spending a humongous N600m monthly to feed IDPs in only 20 out of the 27 local government areas in the state.

However, despite this supposed huge investments by the State, very disturbing reports came out from the camps recently of people especially children dying of malnutrition in the camps in Borno State. One of the reports had it that, at least, 30 children were dying from the phenomenon almost daily while there were about 1,233 graves of citizens who died of acute malnourishment out of which 480 were children’s discovered by Medecins Sans Frontiers.

In a bid to cover up their negligence and corruption, some government officials had claimed that the children were already malnourished in Boko Haram camps where they were held captive before being rescued. But this story does not sell and cannot sell unless such officials want us to believe like it is being mouthed in some quarters that the purported rescued Chibok girls noise was stage-managed. For how can you not have prepared for a thing and time like this as a State playing host to the world’s deadliest terror group? Were Shettima and his partners not aware that unlike the purported stage-managed rescued Chibok girls, the reality of such rescue is that the victims would need intensive care?

Why would Nigerians who survived the onslaught of the dreaded sect for years showing resilience while in captivity be left to die after regaining freedom? Why would those who were forced to live in Sambisa die in Bama? Why would children live under Shekau but die under Shettima? Even if their conditions were so desperately hopeless, does it mean that the government of Shettima did not make adequate provisions medically and otherwise for such situations despite the hundreds of millions bandied about as the sums expended on taking care of the IDPs?

Those innocent Nigerians had no reason whatsoever to die once rescued from Boko Haram! Their rescue should have been a joyous journey back to life and not a sad, pathetic and shameful one to death! And just like the outgoing USA Ambassador to America, James Entwistle asked recently, “Nigerians are dying of starvation in Nigeria. How can that be?”

Indeed, how can that be?

If the Doctors Without Borders could have an inpatient therapeutic centre in Maiduguri where they immediately referred 16 of these malnourished and dying children to, nurture them back to life with utmost and intensive care, the Borno State governor and members of his team should be held responsible for the needless and avoidable deaths of citizens directly in their care!

They should be made to account for all the donations both in cash and in kind that have come the way of the IDPs through the state government from foreign countries, local and international donor organizations, corporate entities, NGOs, religious organizations, individuals etc.

Another fact we must not gloss over is the reality that some of these children actually became malnourished while in the camps as we have heard of how officials shortchange the IDPs in the distribution of food and medicines. Obviously, somebody somewhere is feeding fat at the expense of these vulnerable children who deserve our all in order to be alive. That is the height of heartlessness.

Maybe Kashim Shettima is still waiting for former president Jonathan to call him before he wakes up to his responsibilities just like he lamented in the wake of the Chibok saga that the former president did not call him until after 19 days following the incident. He declared this as one of his defence for his poor handling of the Chiobk issue, and when he was reminded that he, as the chief security officer of the state should have reached out to Jonathan, he said he did not reach out to the former president because he assumed that he would have been briefed! Briefed by whom? If a governor could think and act this way then, how do we expect such a ruler to be able to handle even more intricate matters of nurturing dying children back to life?

It is such act of carelessness and incompetence that Shettima has grown with to the extent that he cannot take care of a small proportion of citizens put under his care. Or, is he still waiting for Jonathan’s call. His excuses so far for this inexplicable and unfortunate occurrence are at best lame in reason and defective in intelligence.

This is the effect of politicising serious matters just for mundane purposes. If Shettima and his team had used the Chibok matter as a learning process rather than as a divisive tool, if they had focused on the larger picture rather than on the narrow prism of pulling Jonathan down, they would by now have appreciated the enormity of the catastrophe staring them in the face, and would have risen to the challenge rather than sacrifice those innocent citizens including children in desperate need of the care of a certain governor and his officials.

To put an end to this carnage of disturbing proportions, I wish to appeal to former president Goodluck Jonathan to place a call to Alhaji Kashim Shettima, the governor of Borno State, perhaps that is all he needs to wake up to the enormous responsibility that fate has placed on him, and save us the embarrassment of war-like images from his domain.

Buhari’s Aides Frustrating Dialogue With Militants – Bayelsa Elders For Progress

Some prominent elders and traditional rulers in Bayelsa State have alleged that some of the aides of President Muhammadu Buhari are frustrating the Federal Government’s proposed dialogue with the Niger Delta Avengers.

Though the elders and the monarchs commended President Buhari’s decision to lead the proposed dialogue, they expressed concern over the alleged show of deceit, insincerity and discordant tunes among the presidential aides from the region.

They claimed the development had created a huge doubt between the militant youths and the Federal Government.
The position of the concerned elders and monarchs, under the aegis of Bayelsa Elders for Progress, Peace and Good Governance, led by their Coordinator, Chief Ayibatonye Goodnews, and ‎the Secretary, Chief Lucky Ebifaghe, is contained in an open letter to the President.

They declared that the recent activities of key aides from the region such as the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, and the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.), were allegedly frustrating the peace efforts of the Federal Government.

They insisted that Buhari should investigate the genuiness of purported meetings held between Boroh and Kachikwu.

They wondered, “How can they claim to have met stakeholders and the militant attacks continue? They met some fake militants and stakeholders and wasted scarce resources of the Federal Government on jamboree.”

“The Amnesty boss, who claimed to have relocated to the creeks of the region was only sighted in a certain community holding clandestine meetings without solution to the continued bombing of the oil and gas facilities.

“Buhari should investigate the money expended on the jamboree without result. We insist that the Presidential Amnesty Office should be probed following the alleged meeting with fake Avengers.”

They contended that the lack of knowledge of the key issues of the region and wrong signals sent to the militants ‎in the creeks were frustrating the needed peace process.

They alleged that many of the purported stakeholders had made money from the self-created jamboree in the region, insisting that the genuine Niger Delta stakeholders should be consulted for sustainable peace in the region.

South African-Based Evangelist Arrested With Cocaine In Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has arrested a 52-year-old evangelist, John Arinze, over his attempt to export N1.4bn worth of narcotics to South Africa.

It said the drugs, made of 92kgs of methamphetamine and 73kgs of ephedrine, were detected inside two containers of foodstuff meant for export to South Africa at the Apapa Seaport in Lagos.

A statement by the NDLEA spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju, on Friday said the suspect, who is a Nigerian based in South Africa, was under interrogation following an intense undercover operation by the agency and that he had confessed to the crime. He added that sniffer dogs belonging to the agency detected the drugs during screening operation.

The statement partly read, “During examination of the containers marked MSKU 388274-1 and MSKU 424717-0; anti-narcotic officials detected 20kg of Methamphetamine and 50kg of Ephedrine inside the first container. Also, 72Kg of Methamphetamine and 23Kg of Ephedrine were detected in the second container. The total weight of the drugs is 165kg.

“Officers successfully traced the illicit consignment to a fifty-two year old man who claimed to be an evangelist by name John Vincent Arinze who was arrested in his hotel room in Lagos. A Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle belonging to him was also impounded at the time of arrest. The suspect hails from Ara village, Nise in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. John who had lived in South Africa for over a decade accepted ownership of the illicit shipment.”

The statement noted further that the drugs were hidden inside packs of melon, concealed in foodstuff and cosmetics such as gaari (cassava flakes), noodles, food seasoning, yam powder, some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, pepper, milk, herbal hair cream and cereals.

Other items in the container were said to include hair cream, bags of melon, kegs of palm oil, beans, biscuits and sardine.

The suspect was said to have told the operatives in his statement that he made a “big mistake” by taking over the business of his late wife, who was into drug trafficking.

“I am an evangelist living in Durban South Africa. My late wife was into drug trafficking before she died few years ago. I made a mistake venturing into her business. It is my fault,” he was quoted as saying.

According to the statement, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Col. Muhammad Abdallah (retd.) said the seizure would have a positive influence on the campaign against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the country.

Abdallah was quoted as saying “This is a product of careful planning and meticulous tracking of narcotic drugs movement. The consignments were closely monitored by our undercover agents and intercepted at Apapa Seaport, Lagos following the detection of narcotics by NDLEA sniffer dogs during screening operation. This will definitely have a positive influence on Nigeria’s drug control efforts.

“I am very happy with the success recorded in this operation. The Agency will remain painstaking and professional in the fight against illicit drug production, trafficking, abuse and prosecuting offenders. We hope to unmask the drug syndicate behind this shipment and make more arrests soon.”

The statement said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Nigeria To Shift Crude Oil Drilling From Troubled Niger Delta To Lake Chad Naija

Nigeria will soon start drilling crude oil in Lake Chad Basin region in what is supposed to boost the country’s output.
The resolution was reached after efforts to placate militant groups in Niger Delta failed.
The exploitation of oil outside the traditional crude oil stronghold is to plug the hole created by destruction of oil and gas infrastructure by the militant groups.
Oil drilling in the Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa states have largely been disrupted by insecurity in the areas bringing down the daily production to one million barrels from 2.2 million barrels.
The ministers of state for petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Friday confirmed oil drilling in the Chad Basin saying it will start in the last quarter of this year.
Chad Basin is located in the northeast where activities of Boko Haram have been countered significantly.
“The decision to diversify our business portfolio is about all of us and about the future of our dear country, the vision is clear, and we are determined not to fail,” Dr Kachikwu said.
The oil field already mapped out and secured covers 3,350 square kilometres.
The production from the well would help achieve the daily target of 2.5 million barrels.

We Will Not Hide Anything From Nigerians – Buhari Naija News

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration will not hide anything from Nigerians in its resolute commitment to restore the economic fortunes of the country and deliver prosperity to Nigerians.
Receiving the Northern Christian Leaders Eagles Eyes Forum at the State House, Abuja on Friday, President Buhari appealed to the religious leaders not to lose hope in the unity, stability and progress of the country.
The President emphasised that the Federal Government will continue to prioritise the safety of lives and property, in addition to equipping Nigerian farmers with the right tools, technology and techniques to boost agriculture.
“ You must tell your followers the truth about the country. We have nothing to hide because we have no other country but Nigeria.
“Tell them to give us a chance to stabilize the country. Your concern for the security, unemployment, anti-corruption campaign and the frequent altercations between herdsmen and farmers are genuine concerns.
“I know the Ministry of Agriculture and the Governors Forum are doing a lot to resolve the lingering crisis between herdsmen and farmers, we must give them a chance,’’ the President said.
President Buhari thanked the Christian leaders for their support to the Federal Government’s anti-corruption campaign and other policies geared towards reviving the economy.
“It is saddening that some of those who stole from our national resources put the money in their personal accounts.
“However, it is gratifying that those who stole money and shared funds meant for the purchase of arms for our military are regretting their actions and they will regret more.
“Those caught in corruption will have themselves to blame,’’ he said.
In his remarks, leader of the Forum, Pastor Aminchi Habu called on Nigerians to support the President’s anti-corruption war and his vision to restore the lost glory of Nigeria.
“In your administration, I see a new Nigeria where the fear of bribery, corruption and extortion is the beginning of wisdom.
“ I see a new Nigeria, where tribalism, religion and ethnicity is no longer a barrier that separates us but a bond that unites us for a greater tomorrow,’’ he said.

I Came To Manchester City To Prove Myself – Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has said he took charge of Manchester City to prove he can deliver beautiful football in the Premier League.
Guardiola established a reputation for the quality of his football during his time in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich and won trophies including two Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles and three Bundesliga titles.
Upon taking charge of Barca’s senior side in 2008 after a year with the B team, he had said at his first news conference at the Camp Nou: “I don’t know if we’ll win, but we’ll persist. Fasten your seatbelts — you are going to enjoy the ride.”
Asked what message he would send to the City fans, he joked: “Fasten your seatbelts — for the other side of the car.”
However, Guardiola accepts he is facing a new challenge in the Premier League.
He had already said after announcing his departure from Bayern in the winter that he was leaving because he wanted to test himself in England.
Asked whether he would be able to implement his trademark playing style week in, week out, in the more physical Premier League, he replied: “That’s why I’m here. To prove. To prove myself that I can adapt.”

He highlighted the fact that in 2012 he had walked away from Barca “where I had virtually everything, the best player ever,” and then left Bayern, who had won four league titles in succession.
“Here is another test for my career. It would have been comfortable to stay where I was but I feel this is the right moment to move here,” he said.
He said he did not know whether it was the toughest task he had faced in his career but accepts that, having previously taken charge of clubs that are able to dominate their leagues, it could be tougher.
“I know how difficult it is here in England — to find a team to win four, five, six games in a row is not easy,” he said. “Maybe that’s the challenge.”
He also has very limited experience of English football and, looking ahead to his first Premier League fixture against Sunderland on Aug. 13, said: “I will need a bit of time to discover what style of play it is here.
“I think it will be more physical. People say it’s not as attractive but I can’t say that. Hopefully later in the season I will be able to explain a bit better.
“I never played one game in the Premier League but I am pretty sure it will be different to Germany or Spain.
“Against Sunderland, against Big Sam [Allardyce], in the first one, I am sure it will be completely different.”
Former Everton and Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has joined City’s coaching staff while Brian Kidd has stayed on as an assistant coach, and Guardiola said they should be able to give him some insight.
“I’ll talk to Brian Kidd and Arteta to learn more,” he said. Kidd is helping me get to know the players. Arteta is one of the best midfielders there’s been and he knows English football.”

Brymo Says Black Men Like To Suffer, Fans Respond & Slam Him

“Black man suffers at home, black man suffers abroad. Black man suffers everywhere, black man likes to suffer.” – Music artiste Brymo is being criticized for this quote he shared via twitter.
Twitter users are describing the quote and its timing as illogical, especially since he tweeted it in the aftermath of the loss of lives of innocent black men in the US, in attacks carried out by Police Officers believed to be racist.
According to Brymo, black people need to sit up. Music by black artistes should stop being about swag and champagne and hoes.
“Blacks need to make it a point to preach value in all that we do, not everyday money money money. Black people feel helpless but we are not..
We are lazy and illogical!! On the grounds that we don’t solve our problems, we just play blame games… It’s in our homes and work place.”
Nigerians are however not pleased with his unpopular opinions and are dragging him on Social Media.

Edo 2016: Sheriff Should Forgive Us- PDP Lawmaker

Apparently worried by the lingering National leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives has appealed for understanding just as he called for a united opposition party in the country
Hon. Sergius Oguns, member representing Esan south east and Esan north east federal constituency who disclosed this said, the PDP must put its house in order for the sake of providing a viable opposition party to checkmate what he described as ‘excesses’ of the ruling party.

Speaking at his country home in Ugboha,Esan south east local government area of the, said “I want to say the least I can’t say I am worried,I was a member of the convention committee, I was there at Port Harcourt and when we returned back from the convention to Abuja, the minority leader in the house of Representative called some of us to go and see Alhaji Ahmadu Sheriff to plead with him that the party is supreme, that he should put the party first, that if we have offended him as a person ,we are coming on behalf of the PDP caucus in the house to ask for your forgiveness.

“Ahmadu complained of the injunctions that came and others saying that was the reason he stopped the Port Harcourt convention, he now told us that the governors have immunity ,that he doesn’t have, that he can be arrested, so he needs to obey the court orders, so we now pleaded that for whatever happened he should forgive us in the interest of the party.

“We left and regrouped that same evening to see Prof. Jerry Gana in his place to also let him know that we have met with Ahmadu Sheriff so that the supremacy of the party can prevail. So the next day,the BoT of the party meet with the caretaker committee, then it was resolved that the stakeholders are ready to work with the caretaker committee.

“In that meeting it was also resolved that some of our leaders, should get in touch with Ahmadu Sheriff and his people and it was later reported back that they couldn’t reach him, so I was surprised when I saw
in the papers that Ahmadu Sheriff said nobody reached him, that wasn’t correct. I personally was in his house alongside other caucus members.

“My prayers is that, His Excellency, Ahamdu Sheriff would for the sake of the party,do the needful and withdraw the cases in court and let us have one United party, so that we as an opposition party can take on the government of the day. As you and I know, things are not working right in this country, when was the last time did you hear someone speak as a united PDP? Nobody.

So I will plead with him that if people offended him,we say sorry and for the sake of Nigeria, let’s have a strong opposition party to check the government of the day.

Return Your Loot To Experience Peace – Buhari Tells Looters

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday asked those who have stolen the nation’s commonwealth to come and negotiate how they will return their loot.

He said the move has become necessary so that all may know peace.

The President has also told militants engaging in renewed violence in the Niger Delta in clear terms that the unity of the country remains non-negotiable.

Buhari spoke when Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Bello, led residents of the FCT to pay him Sallah homage at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President said looters would not know peace if they refused to return stolen funds because his government would continue to be on their trail.

“Please tell those with plenty of money which does not belong to them‎ to try and negotiate and return it in peace so that both they and us will be in peace, otherwise we will continue to look for it,” the President said.

On security, the President expressed delight that his government had made a lot of progress in fighting terrorism in the North East.

He regretted that while the anti-terrorism war is being won, the issue of militancy in the Niger Delta resurfaced.

Buhari said the Federal Government had commenced the process of identifying the number of groups involved in militancy in the region with a view to getting their leaders and appealing to them to give Nigeria a chance.

He said he was in agreement with the slogan made popular by a former military Head owon (retd.), that to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be accomplished.
He made it clear to the militants blowing up pipelines and infrastructure in the region that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable.

The President said, “Please pass the message to the militants that one Nigeria is not negotiable. They better accept this fact.

“The Nigerian constitution is clear as to what they should get and I assure them that there will be justice‎.”

Buhari also admitted that despite the change in name and form of the National Electric Power Authority, the power situation in the country has remained unreliable.

He said that was why the radio has become a major source of information dissemination as those who do not have electricity at home can easily walk into a barber’s shops or drinking joints and listen to the radio before continuing their journey.

“Those who watch television are at the mercy of what is used to be called NEPA. Whichever form it (NEPA) has taken now, it has maintained the tradition of unreliability. It is not everyday that the people get the news,” the President said.
Buhari also admitted that there were a lot of problems bedeviling the nation, especially on food production.

He disclosed that the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh; and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, are working hard to address food production problem.

He said the CBN was borrowing the minister money outside the budget so that he can assist states especially the 13 states that can produce rice.

The President expressed the belief that once the nation can feed itself, more money can be spent on infrastructure and social services.

Earlier, Osinbajo had said that it has been a tough journey for the present administration because of the clean-up exercise it embarked on since inception.

He said the Buhari administration inherited what he called “huge financial mess” from the past administration.

He however expressed joy that things have started looking up, adding that things would soon be better for the nation and Nigerians.
“We will place the country on a strong footing,” Osinbajo assured Nigerians.

Osinbajo prayed for Buhari that as he grows older in age, he would be stronger in strength, adding that the President will have enough strength to be victorious no matter the challenges facing him and the country.

Highlights of the Sallah homage included when the Minister of FCT presented a giant season’s card to the President while representatives of the Aso Villa Chapel presented him with a big mirror and a giant season’s card.

Buhari later took time to shake hands and pose for photographs with all his guests one after the other.
Representatives of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; members of the Federal Executive Council and top presidential aides attended the event.

Militants Vow To Attack Dickson Over Unpaid Salaries

A consolidated group of militants, the Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC), yesterday, vowed to riddle Bayelsa State Government House with bullets if Governor Seriake Dickson continued to owe workers their salaries.

The group said it was unacceptable for Dickson to be owing civil servants about seven months, local government workers for over 13 months, pensioners for about nine months and workers in the only state university, Niger Delta University (NDU) for about seven months.

The group in a statement said after its meeting in Yenagoa, it also resolved to attack more flow stations to express its displeasure in the inability of the Federal Government to address the challenges confronting the Niger Delta region.

Persons who endorsed the statement for the group identified themselves as ‘General’ Torunanaowei Latei (Creek Network Coordinator); ‘General’ Agbakakuro Owei-Tauro (Pipeline Bleeding Expert); ‘General’ Akotebe Darikoro (Commander, General Duties) and ‘General’ Pulokiri Ebikade (Intelligence Bureau).

The group said: “We are warning Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state, without further delay commence the final payment of all workers including the old pensioners been owed their several months of salary. Dickson is to pay these workers/pensioners in full and not 50% or half of half of their legitimate salaries.

“He will not claim of no funds to pay them. The funds are with him based on the allocations he received from the federation account which is known to the people. No

fund but the government is busy doing projects and building personal buildings within and outside the state, while these workers are dying in abject poverty in the state.

“This is unacceptable and it must stop forthwith in the region because our parents, brothers and sisters are not to suffer as a result of their effort in government.

“Enough is enough, he should go and bring the money wherever he is keeping it and fully pay these workers and pensioners before the end of this month or otherwise, what he is looking for in the state he shall see it from us”.

Accusing the government and its family of diverting public money for personal projects, the group claimed that the ministry of works of paying all supply contracts to governor’s relatives while ignoring others.

The militant group said: “If the government said there is no money, it should without delay auction those properties it and its relatives amass with the state funds within and

outside Bayelsa now to pay the workers immediately.

“We’ll go after any of Dickson’s relation and political appointees who have given wrong advise to the Pharaoh (Gov. Dickson) of Bayelsa state to cripple the state.

“Since the governor cannot pay workers in the state, by avoiding the oath he took and his constitutional responsibilities, he should leave the seat of power in the state by

avoiding bloodshed. Whoever that attacks us in words will also go for it.

“If Dickson undermines us what he saw while serving as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of the state on that fateful day of April, 27th 2007 were we came and sacked President Goodluck Jonathan then governor of the state at government house, will experience same but this time around it will be disastrous and head will roll, whoever that confronts us”.

On attack on oil attacks on oil installation the militant group named its targets as the oil and gas pipelines running from Ogboinbiri in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa state to Obrinkon in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers state.

Other it planned to attack are the flow stations of Ogboinbiri, Oporoma, Peremabiri, Tabidaba, Nembe, Brass, Chevron platform in Koluama, Okordia-Zarama and Biseni including Gbarain-Ubie gas gathering plant.

It said they would be be set ablaze because the oil companies were major hindrances to the development of the region.

The group warned persons staying within its targets to leave insisting that its mission was to cripple the economy of the country and not to kill anybody.

“The Nigerian securities who are claiming they are securing the oil facilities in the region should stay as their dwelling places and see whether their safety will be guarantee by the music on those days.

“We thanked the Minister of state, Petroleum Resources for the bold steps he personally took to resolve the injustice created and sponsored by the wicked companies and government in Nigeria.

Our struggle is beyond monetary gains and we cannot be bribe by the Nigerian government to the detriment of our suffering people and the struggle is unstoppable until justice is done to the region.

“Our Field Commanders have been instructed what to do and those who are

on standby in Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Edo, Delta Cross River await after Bayelsa state operations.

“We further warned that, henceforth, any attack on Ijaw communities or person(s) by the military or para-military body in the region, we will not hesitate to order our shoot-at-sight squad of any uniform personnel in the region.

“For the records, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are not in Delta state, we only go there to strike and returns back safely to the struggle base, Bayelsa state”.
